Iranian Women stage protest in front of German embassy in Tehran
|
They chanted slogans against the US, the UK, the racist and Zionist elements in Germany and expressed their hatred of the crime perpetrated by a racist man who killed the young lady in the courtroom.
One of the participants in the demonstration, Minoo Aslani, urged all world countries to condemn the racist crime given the alarming increase in Islamophobia in the West.
She wondered why Muslim women wearing hijab were not safe and secure in western countries which claim to be democratic.
Speaking to demonstrators, member of Iranian Parliament Zohreh Elahian said Iranian legislators looked at the German government as the authority which has to explain the killing and said the German government was responsible for Sherbini ’s death.
She further said that while the German Chancellor Angela Merkel was quick enough to support the recent unrests in Iran, she has remained silent on the murder of the veiled Egyptian lady.
The female Iranian legislator also criticized the western media and press for their discriminatory coverage of the killing of Sherbini and a young Iranian woman, namely Neda Aqa Soltan, during Tehran unrests and called on all Muslim women and female ministers in Islamic states to adopt firm stances on the growing Islomophobia in the West as well as the massacre of Muslims in China.
